Report

On another grey cold day, we welcomed Halas Hawks to Trysull. I was surprised to see the number of players there  today, as I know a couple of the girls were ill and  had to drag themselves there, and it just shows their commitment and desire to play, so well done girls. A sluggish start, where the ball seemed to be constantly out of play in the Halas Left back area, we struggled to get going. As the first half went on, we then started to create chances and both Ruby and TJ shot wide. A great run from TJ with another shot that went past the post, and then a great run from Millie where she beat a couple of players, but saw her fierce shot hit the post. Finally a great through ball from Millie, saw TJ one v one with the keeper, and she cooly finished, 1-0. Then on a rare Halas attack, Caitlyn intercepted a through ball, played a pass into the middle, and after another couple of passes  Ruby was in, where she blasted it past the keeper, 2-0. This even got our watching Chairman excited. Another couple of chances came, but the Halas keeper was on top form and made some good saves. Second half we made a few changes, and seemed to lose our shape a little, and didn't create as many chances as we did in the first half. A tactical  change putting Ruby back up front, saw another through ball from Millie and Ruby made it 3-0. Ruby completed her hat trick with a break from winning the ball in the middle. 4-0 was a good result today, could have been more, but Halas are fast improving and competed for every ball the whole game. MOM was close today, Annie was superb, her best game so far, Caitlyn looked good covering at the back, both the goalscorers Ruby and TJ looked dangerous, but the award went to Millie, where she looked like the player she was a few months ago before her injury, quality on the ball, great passing and today a solo run and the confidence to shoot from distance.
A great first season girls, and with a full pre-season behind us next season I'm sure we can only improve. Really proud of you all.
