On our final game of the season and on a great morning for football this game turned into a classic. It was fair to say say that our opening 15 minutes of the game was probably our worst of the entire season. We were 1 down within 3 minutes,2 down after an own goal after 10 minutes then 3 down on 15 minutes after some poor allround play. We just didn't do the Trysull thing for some reason until Lewis's shot produced a quite brilliant save from Glassboys keeper. This spurred us on and some neat triangular passing between Joe,Harry and Lewis produced another fine save. Then after a neat pass from Ben to Joe and on to Chris who laid it off to Lewis to fire home to give us a lifeline with a powerfull shot.
HALF TIME 3-1
After some choice words at half time we adjusted our formation and started on the attack with waves of pressure. It was no suprise when we got our second after a fine through ball found Christos unmarked to fire into the corner of the net. GAME ON !!! Even a bloodied nose from Chris couldn't stop his brilliant second half. His second after a fine through ball saw him hold off his marker, accelerate though and chip the keeper fron way out. It was a quite brilliant goal and no one could say we didn't deserve it. This was a game to savour and proved what true CHAMPIONS are made of and minutes from the end our winner came from Ben after a wicked Harry Clifton corner found our number 3 unmarked at the far post to bundle the ball over the line to spark fantastic celebrations.
Also a mention to Kai who battled superbly in the second half but the outstanding Chris took the honours.
A truly outstanding season boys,undefeated for over 35 matches all through playing superb football. You have been a pleasure to coach and also a big thanks to Steve for assisting and the parents for their support. On a sad note it was Lewis's final league game for the Tigers and i still remember the day when he first joined us at 6 years old. Whatever your future holds please remember the Trysull will always be here for you and I will always find a place for you in my team. Good luck !!
